About thebibleway.org:
At the Jackson Heights Church of Christ we respect the authority of the
Bible. Our effort is to make the local church grow and to support
the work of other faithful preachers worldwide.
In our worship, we honor God, Jesus, and
the Holy Spirit with:
|
Prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
|
|
Bible-based teaching
and preaching (Acts 20:7, 2 Timothy 4:2)
|
|
A cappella singing
(vocal music - Ephesians
5:19,
Colossians 3:16)
|
|
Weekly communion (“the Lord’s Supper” – 1
Corinthians 11, Acts 20:7)
|
|
Weekly giving (a
free-will offering by the members - 1 Corinthians 16:1-2)
|
At every assembly, God’s plan
of redemption is explained and the opportunity to become a Christian,
part of the universal church is provided (“added to the church” - Acts
2:47).
Consistent with Acts 2:38, to
become a Christian a person must hear the gospel, believe it, repent of
their sins, make confession that Jesus is the son of God, and through
baptism have their sins washed away.
This makes that person a part of the
kingdom (Colossians
1:13-14).
This website is a work of the local church at
Jackson
Heights
in
Columbia,
Tennessee serving families from all over Middle Tennessee, including
Spring Hill and Chapel Hill.
We offer free sermons, free lessons, and a number of daily devotional
materials, soon to include “Word Points” items provided by Gary Henry.
We are an independent church and believe in the autonomy of the
local congregation. We believe
that the message of God is undenominational and calls each of us to
obedience (Hebrews 5:8-9). We
invite you to contact us if you are interested in learning more, or if
you have comments or questions. |
