Christians are citizens of the kingdom of God. Our ultimate destiny and destination is to be with God in heaven. But while we are on earth, we are at war with the world. There is an unavoidable antagonism between those who follow Jesus and a world that refuses to follow Him. Yet, the world is quick to give advice to Christians. (Translate “give advice” to “tell lies.”) Are we willing to believe the lies and follow the world’s advice? Here are eight lies the world will tell you so it will win and you will lose! These eight lies are answered in eight lessons from God’s word

Lie #1: “You have no responsibility to the lost; and, besides, soul-winning is too hard.”

Answered in Sunday Bible Class in a lesson entitled Four Simple Things We All Can Do To Reach the Lost. Who says you can’t do personal evangelism?

Lie #2: “You don’t have duties to those people down there at that church.”

Answered Sunday morning in a lesson entitled Foolish Mistakes Christians Make. What duties do you really have to Christ and the church?

Lie #3: “The Bible and all those religious things are just too hard to learn.”

Answered Sunday evening in a lesson entitled All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Bible Class. If it is so hard, then how come kids know all about it?

Lie #4: “You have to grab all the stuff you can get or miss out on real life.”

Answered Monday evening in a lesson entitled Something Is Missing. If getting more things really satisfies, then why are so many people unhappy?

Lie #5: “You don’t need heaven when you have all that this world offers.”

Answered Tuesday evening in a lesson entitled Heaven Can Wait—Or Maybe Not! What is it about this world that people think it is better than heaven?

Lie #6: “Prayer? God doesn’t have time for someone like you!”

Answered Wednesday evening in a lesson entitled Straight Talk About Prayer. What should we really expect from our prayers? And what should we not expect?

Lie #7: “You aren’t going to make it to heaven anyway; so you might as well give up.”

Answered Thursday evening in a lesson entitled Satan’s Assault On Your Salvation. How can you know for sure that you really are going to heaven?

Lie #8: “You are not benefited all that much by being a Christian.”

Answered Friday evening in a lesson entitled Why You Need To Be A Christian. There are many reasons for being a Christian, but what is the most important reason?
